When the homeowners external oil combination boiler broke down, he was faced with the decision or repairing the boiler or replacing it. Having already installed Solar PV modules, it was clear a heating and hot water system that could make use of the generated electricity was going to be the best option.
We proposed an 8.5kW Mitsubishi Ecodan Air Source Heat Pump, Kingspan Albion Unvented hot water cylinder as well as an Immersun Solar Switch to make sure as much of the onsite electricity generation was going to be used.
We estimate that this system will reduce the heating and hot water bills by 40%+ per year!
Our customer was eligible for the Renewable Heat Premium Payment worth £850 as well as a Top Up voucher from the heat pump manufacturer worth £400.
